WordPress Block Theme Development Resources

·

The block theme and the Full Site Editing feature are nearly stable, and I am investing in this philosophy of democratizing web design for users. I love Gutenberg for its clean output and lean management system.

The first discussion I found on Twitter about Gutenberg-based tutorials is from Jamie Marsland. He shared a cool video on making an FSE theme. It is a short video of 9 minutes, and he talks slowly for non-English speakers to understand and soak up the knowledge he is sharing.

He used the tutorial shared here as a reference to make the video below https://webdevstudios.com/2021/09/14/wordpress-fse-and-block-based-themes/

For a developer friend, I started reading and researching how to start working on FSE themes. I knew Richard Tabor and Brian Gardener were working on some great-looking themes. So, I have found these links you can follow to learn more about making themes for Gutenberg Block Editor or the Full Site Editing experience.

Richard Tabor did some experiments with his themes, and you can look at those theme source codes.
